The Legend Of Pop Queen : Anita Mui .. Born Mui Yim Fong on Oct 10 1963, began her singing career at the age 4 1/2. Her break came in 1982 went she won the New Talent Singing.
Since then she released more than 40 albums. Famous for her ever-changing image and earned reputation of being the 'Madonna of Asia", she dominated the H.K. music scene after winning her fifth consecutive Best female singer award in 1990 - a record till today - she refused to accept any more accollades in order to make way for newcomers.
Mui was well-known for her flamboyant concert performances and outrageous costumes as well as her remarkable endurance when she was live on stage. She also the First H.K. artiste to hold a solo concert in Taiwan (1988), and was invited to sing at opening ceremony of the Seoul Olympics that year. Also in 1988, she set a H.K. record for the most number of consecutive concerts held when she staged a 28-days run of solo shows, and subsequently broke that record with her 33-days series of farewell concerts in 1990.
With over 45 movies under her belt, she won the Golden Horse Best Actress Award for her 1987 performance in Stanley Kwan's Rouge.
On Dec 30, 2008 My Little Gallery of Anita Mui was finally complete in tribute to the late singer since she left us 5 years ago...
